Söwe Konst

Söwe Konst was a Swedish maker of teak homewares and wooden furniture in Sövestad, Skåne, with pieces designed by Sigvard Nilsson.

Söwe Konst, often written Sowe Konst outside Sweden, was a maker of teak homewares and wooden furniture in Sövestad, in Skåne in the south of Sweden. Swedish auction houses list its pieces as designed by Sigvard Nilsson: teak bowls, bowls with their serving spoons, and benches and tables in elm, oak and beech.

Its history is not well recorded. We have not found a museum or reference source for when the firm was founded or when it closed, and the auction records we checked date its pieces to the 1960s, 1970s and 1980s.

From our shop

The orb nut bowl we found in Cincinnati in September 2026 is solid teak, about six inches across, with the maker's stamp on the base. It would originally have come with a small serving spoon, which was already missing when we found it.
